However, it remains more than just a technical manual for, as the author points out in his preface, it provides, 'a work on papermaking which, while not neglecting those teachings of theoretical and practical chemistry, the understanding of which is necessary for the successful and economic production of paper, should at the same time give due consideration to the practical working of the paper Mill.' £25.00
